|
|
I just played with php and GD yesterday. GD is pretty nice, here's what I made:
(for some reason the img tags won't display the image, so here's the url:
What do you think? Any information I should add/change?
All the information is dynamic: uptime, server ip, and webserver software/version.
If you're curious, I use an external application to get the uptime (I had developed this method of getting uptime before I knew about abyss's variable for it.
I use file_get_contents() on a url on my other website that outputs my server's IP by using the server 'REMOTE_ADDR' variable. (this is the most reliable way)
And I use the server variable 'SERVER_SOFTWARE' which i cut to a length of 13 characters using substr().
Suggestions/questions are welcomed! Also, if anyone wants the source code, I'd be happy to give you it.

The image wont display at the forum because the URL does not end with .jpg, .png or other image formats.
I wrote a captcha using GD a while ago, currently in use on my page when somebody is trying to register an account.
