Hi

i am used to IIS but look for an alternative.
i have installed the personal edition from Abyss.
i can see now html pages, but my goal is to run classic asp pages using also sessions.

i have tried this but it think that sessions are not recognized.

are they available in Abyss and if yes how can i enable them?

regards

I don't think sessions have anything to do with the webserver. They are placed in the headers and therefore should work perfectly.

Hi AbyssUnderground

i am afraid they do. at least in iis.
the webserver creates a session object when a visitor visits a website.

so how can i do this with Abyss?

Well, sessions do work since I use them on my site as part of the DDoS protection.

Session support is related to the scripting language you are using. So if you are using classic ASP, you'll have to check the global.asa file of your application and enable sessions there.

You'll find one in the AHTML subdirectory (located inside the ActiveHTML setup directory). That directory contains also examples of ASP scripts using sessions.
