Hey all there...
Kinda new to all this server stuff..
But the last week I got Abyss working, a mail server up and going and have with a free DNS gotten a www name and a MX pointet to me... and all works fine..... Nice thing
But now i done something I can't figure out....
In the Abyss console I get this error
Default Host On Port 80 Listening Error and have the option to START
But still everything is working :?:
I have tested my site with this page and I can connect and the Abyss Icon is in my tray, running....
But Im just the kind that finds this annoying... everything seems fine but still this error... And of cause doesn't have the option of stopping since it's the start option there is displayed :o
have not installed anything since this error but did play with my router but the ports in my router and firewall seems ok.... Have looked via TCPview and Active ports.....
you can see here for yourself that the site is up and running Site
But WHY this error :?: :?: |

Hi acoustika,
Your problem is this:
The server is installed as a service and configured to startup on user login.
Now if Abyss is already running as a service, the two processes are already
started and causes an error when Abyss attempts to start.
This is the proper way:
Abyss Web Server will be installed as a Service and run in the background. It
will not startup while you're logging into your account. The system tray icon will
not be shown while running in the background.
Note: To change these settings, go to your
Start menu -> Abyss Web Server -> Abyss Web Server Startup Configuration
Note: Use "Automatic startup on user logon" if you wish to have the system
tray icon shown. It will not be run in the background and Abyss will only start
if you're logged into the account Abyss is installed on.
Sincerely, Josh (TRUSTAbyss)
