so my question is.
If I install ASP support like ahtml.
and the user of the page or domain.
the user should only have access to the directory and subdir that the domain is in.
not previous directory.
how should I do that.
Iam not good in english so I hope someone understand what I meen.
if the root dir of one domain is c:\htdocs or somthing.
and should not be able to edit files in c:\ with FileSystemObject |

you can set this up using the FTP software. In most of them it is called the "Home Directoy".
In abyss, you just set the Base Dirceotry under Host >> General _________________ My online Portfolio |

I meen if you are in an scripting language.
like ASP.
in ASP with FSO you can access every file on the computer where the
webserver is running.
so my question how do I set that restriction so I cant access anythinh outside the root dir |

PHP can do this if you take the time to learn it. You will have to ask seliSoft
about the ActiveHTML root restriction. |

PsyDonia,
You can do so by creating a limited user account in Windows (not an administrator). Such a user account will only have limited file access permissions for the system files. You can also enforce more limitations by using Windows Explorer and the Security tab of you important folders (in Properties).
Next install Abyss Web Server under this user account and set it to run from that user account privileges only. By doing so, only the files accessible to that user will be accessible to the script Abyss Web Server runs. _________________ Support Team
