Like other users, my server occassionally gives an 500 response for no apparent reason. However, unlike other users my FastCGI.log file contains the following:

----
Exception [System.AppDomainUnloadedException] in the ASP.NET processor
SOURCE: FCGIDotNet_1_1
MESSAGE: The application domain in which the thread was running has been unloaded.
TARGETSITE: Void ProcessRequest(Aprelium.FCGIDotNet_1_1.Connection)
STACKTRACE: at Aprelium.FCGIDotNet_1_1.Host.ProcessRequest(Connection conn)
at Aprelium.FCGIDotNet_1_1.Connection.ProcessOneRequest()
----

Has anyone else seen this before or know the cause?

Thanks.
Ragu

ragu,

The cause here is probably an internal crash of the ASP.NET engine (the one inside the .NET framwork, not on Abyss' side). This could be caused by a bug there or by low memory conditions.

How frequent is this error?

This error occurs every few page loads. The application runs fine under IIS. I will try to isolate the problem and provide some more details.

Unfortunatly I can't provide you with the code as it is a custom written application that we are working on. We were hoping to use Abyss as an alternative to IIS.

ragu,

Thank you for your reply. If you can isolate the problem (or at least provide us with a stripped down version of the code that can trigger it), this will greatly help us to track it and fix it.

By the way, have you tried using the same ASP.NET application with .NET 2.0 instead of 1.1? Does it exhibit the same behavior?
