What is the latest IP address? Will you mind posting it up here? Are you on a network? Does your ISP block port 80? Are you behind a router? Are you behind a firewall?
Try to be as clear as possible as chances are this question has already been answered many times. _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

how do you mean 'went haywire'?
It is likely the firewall is blocking port 80.. |

ZoneAlarm at one time was a horror to uninstall... Not sure how it is lately but overall you should just be aware if port 80 is blocked or stealth. Was it ZA that you recently had before something went haywire?
Go to www.securitymetrics.com and find out the status of port 80 then get back to us about it. _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

my localhost, and my Ip(when i set up abyss) was working ok, then when My ip changed I tried localhost and my ip to access my page, and nothing would show up. Port 80 is closed, but port 8080 isnt,or wasent. And I had norton then I tried ZA since both where having difficulties running, and now I decided to search for a different firewall. Thx for the info. |

You shouldn't have a problem accessing your server from the same computer your running your server *even* if your ports are blocked.
Have you changed your port number? If you did you should add the port number onto the end of your address like this: http://65.11.120.20:port
Are you using a port number?
If port 80 is closed, blocked or stealth do you have a firewall blocking the port? If you do not have a firewall blocking it do you have XP? It has its own internal firewall you should be aware of...
At the time you noticed the connection break do you remember what you did or what could've caused it to break?
By any chance if you're trying to access active pages such as php, asp, perl, etc is your Abyss.conf file still in order? Did it reset?
Let us know if you solved it by now, good luck :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez
