access to server but no pages loaded

hi all, I've spent three hours now working my way through the forum in search of an answer to my question...
I got my abyss server running, and can access everything fine from my local machine, and other computers in the LAN.
All the forum tells me about connection issues is "Port-forwarding" I'm tired of reading about those already...
my problem is, when I try to access the server from Internet, it asks for the password and username, which I enter correctly and it lets me pass, but then it just stops loading the pages and the browser says "waiting for reply from server" and nothing happened everafter.
I allowed access to the abyss console from web as well, and can enter the address, enter username and password when it asks me for it, but same thing, the pages aren't loading.
any suggestions on why that would happen?

How have you set your portforwarding? What is your router model?
What is the URL you are visiting to test your site access? From which computer are you visiting it (a computer on your local network or a computer outside your local network)?
