Ok, Im running the linux X1 version, and this has been making me mad, whenever i try to use CGIProxy and access Google Images through the proxy, it messes up. If I cant get this fixed, im going back to Apache 1.3, because so far, it works. _________________

Oh no! A threat! We must hurry to help!
....
Not.
:/
If you don't define your problem, how do you expect to get any help?
What version of Perl do you have installed?
Have you configured it correctly?
Have you configured Perl support in X1 correctly?
What exactly is 'messes up'?
How is it Abyss's fault when CGIProxy is a Perl script which is run by the Perl interpreter? The webserver only returns what Perl returns.
I'm afraid the problem lies between the computer and the chair. _________________

Please try not to make threats on the forum.
I just got done testing CGIProxy on Abyss Web Server and it works fine. What
exactly is the problem? What is the URL that messes up?
P.S. CGIProxy is slow anyway. Try using PHProxy. |

Please excuse my threat, I was just satisfied with Abyss up until this point, and editing the source of CGIproxy and going to websites just frustrated me. CGIproxy doesnt load the results on Google Images on Abyss. But on lighttpd or Apache 1.3, or 2.x it loads the image results fine. It is crucial that I get Google Image results working because that is one of the primary uses of my proxy. Im running the latest Abyss X1 on ubuntu linux 6.06 alpha. I dont think the OS is at fault, because I've had the same problem on Windows and openSuSE 10, yet all other www servers I try to host CGIproxy on, run it flawlessly.
Here are some screenshots:

I would like to prove to you that it works by providing my CGIProxy example
running on Abyss Web Server. You need password access for security reasons
but I have already sent you a private message with that info.
I really don't know why it messes up on your server but works perfectly for
me. This could be a bad Perl configuration. Add me to your MSN Messenger
and I will do everything in my power to get it working for you.

Is safe mode enabled in php.ini? If it is that can prevent it working properly.
EDIT: I realise the comment above has nothing to do with CGIProxy. I thought you were trying PHP Proxy. My mistake. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

moogle81,
Check your access.log and let us know what are the URLs of these linked images and what is their returned error code. _________________ Support Team

I checked the access.log, all the images get a 404 error. Heres a sample:
Code: | 127.0.0.1 - - [17/May/2006:15:56:16 -0400] "GET /cgi-bin/cgitest/nph-proxy.cgi/010110A/http/images.google.com/images=3fq=3dtbn:yWfVsf8PFBz0xM:www.sethf.com/anticensorware/general/google-censorship/google-stormfront1-de.gif HTTP/1.1" 404 3594 "http://127.0.01/cgi-bin/cgitest/nph-proxy.cgi/010110A/http/images.google.com/images?q=google&hl=en&btnG=Search+Images" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060513 Ubuntu/dapper Epiphany/2.14 Firefox/1.5.0.3" |

Heres a sample from the lighttpd log:
Code: | 127.0.0.1 - - [17/May/2006:16:01:12 -0400] "GET /cgi-bin/cgitest/nph-proxy.cgi/010111A/http/earth.google.com/sites/images/thecolosseumx350.jpg HTTP/1.1" 200 65267 "http://localhost/cgi-bin/cgitest/nph-proxy.cgi/010111A/http/earth.google.com/sites/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060513 Ubuntu/dapper Epiphany/2.14 Firefox/1.5.0.3" |

Im not sure, I checked the logs (all of them) and it looks the same as the log sample I had posted. Every log but abyssws.pid and access.log is empty. I see the CGIproxy frame when I directly browse that link, but no log indication that the script is invoked. _________________

Please send your current copy of the CGIProxy script (the file nph-proxy.cgi) to support@aprelium.com and we will add some logging to it to help us determine how it is behaving on your computer. _________________ Support Team
