|
|
At one point, I had an Abyss Webserver running on my computer. I had a Bellsouth DSL router, dynamic IP. I've recently changed router versions, and somewhere in the process hit 'Default Settings.' The time before when I had my Abyss Webserver working, some guy I met on a tech site helped me (well, did it for me, via RealVNC). He's no longer online anymore, though, and that tech site shutdown. So, I'm wondering, how exactly do I setup an Abyss Webserver to a DSL connection, dynamic IP. No-ip.com has some freeware that will fix my dynamic IP problem, but, when I run Abyss Webserver on my PC, I try to go to http://my_ip_or_domain_here/file_name_here.ext (but of course with my real IP, file name, and extension) but it pops up a 404 page not found page, or in Firefox a sorry this page could not be loaded, or whatever. And I'm certain that those files are in my \htdocs\ path.
I'll be highly grateful if anyone can help me.
Thanks,
Plykz. |

I searched through the 564654654654 topics here.
Meh... nevermind, it's a crappy product anyway. Apache is a lot easier. |

You need to make sure you enable port forwarding in your router. www.portforward.com would be a good place to find out how.
MrWiseOne,
If you have nothing good to say could I suggest you don't say it at all. Also, your one or few word posts are starting to get irritating. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

 Nice troll.
Being unable to configure your router has nothing to do with which webserver you use. If you're incapable of reading the manual for your router and setting it up correctly, I have a hard time believing that you're capable of using Apache. _________________
