Hello to everyone,
First of all sorry for my poor english.
I've searching in the forums for information about this, but all the post I found are old, so i guess it's alright to get an update on this subject:
1) Is there a way to install a "web control panel" for my users in Abyss X2? I want to install Cpanel or something like that, even thou there is free version called Zpanel but I read it has a lot of bugs.
2) I have read that there is no FTP support in Abyss, but there are "3rd Party Programs" that will let you have FTP? Anyone that have test this, can tell what software install.
3) There is no email server in Abyss, is the any program that will let me have my own mail server and work well with Abyss (for example if I have a subdomain, i will be able to creat emails under it).
Sorry for this dumb questions, I still don't have an answer on this, and I've been searching.
Thanks for your time,

A good FTP-server is http://zftpserver.serveftp.com/
It has remote administration, is free and works really good. |

Soyel10,
Abyss Web Server is as its name suggest a "Web Server". So it does not contain a "Mail Server" or an "FTP Server".
You can install a mail server and, FTP server, and Abyss Web Server on the same computer and have a complete system that is suitable to your needs. _________________ Support Team

ZPanel is actually geared towards either Linux or IIS, and does not allow users to purchase hosting packages, neither does it allow users to create an account once the package(s) have been purchased. It only allows a user to login (to what? if nothing has been purchased), and to prove it, I have installed and setup ZPanel at http://panel.tezandbabs.us , and if anyone can show me where a user can purchase the packages I setup, and as a result of the package being purchased, an account creation form is presented, then I'll be gob smacked.
If you use a 3rd part FTP and E-mail server, you will need to create your client(s) access to the FTP folder(s) manually (Zpanel will create the folder(s)), and you will need to manually create the user(s) E-mail account on the server, to match the username and password, that's setup in ZPanel, but,,,,if you have IIS (windows 2003 server) installed then ZPanel works great with it.
I was going to setup a hosting service, but without IIS it can not be done with 3rd party web, FTP and E-mail servers, so I gave up.
If MySQL is installed, ZPanel will create a MySQL username and database automatically, other than that, there's no possible way of using 3rd party server software to fully automate a hosting service, unless windows 2000/2003 server or Linux is installed. |
