Setting up Abyss Web Server is easy if you follow what the documentation says. We recommend starting by reading the chapter "Getting Started" in the User's Manual of Abyss Web Server.

YOu don't need to know Perl, PHP, or ASP to host a web server. All you need is a computer connected to the internet, some HTML files and images that you put in the htdocs folder (in the Abyss Web Server installation folder.) You should know your IP by using http://www.aprelium.com/ip and ask people to connect to your web server using http://IP . You can still even connect to your web server using http://127.0.0.1 but this works only on your computer.

Please at above message first, thank.Something which i will like to add on is that i managed to see my web using console as default otherwise when i set it to port 8080 and it cannot run at all except in http://127.0.0.1:80.Now when i set it to default for the console,i use my ip http://myip:80 and it work.Woow,at last i make it.Now the problem is that i can see it but when my friend type my ip using http://myip:80,they cannot see it all.The loading is really slow, running at 11kb when i look into the static chart. Now why is it running so slow for the loading?Just to let you know that i using cable and speed is not really that slow for me for the page to load(same for my friend).

Your firends may not see all the page because you have broken or invalid reference on images ofr example (avoid using SRC="c:\myimage.jpg" for example, this refers to your own computer, not to the web server.)
The fact that the connection is slow has nothing to do with the eb server. The server will send data as fast as your network can handle. But sometimes, even if your ISP tells you that your connection has a high speed, it doesn't have such a speed all the time and especially when people are accessing your computer.

I have place my image and index files in the C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs and the loading is really slow/cannot be loaded when my friends access it.

For your information,i using those web base file sharing such wwwfileshare pro is not slow at all during the loading.Beside that,my FTP server is running not that slow during an uploading or downloading process.

May i know what is actual problem when people access my webpage?Well, when i load my webpage and the load is really fast http://myip:80.Even my uploading of the webpage is slow,my image shall be able to see instead of an error.

As we already said, the speed is not an issue related to Abyss Web Server but it is always a network issue. So please check why people are having such a slow connection when connecting to you through port 80.
For the problem of images, there is no problem with the server. You should proofcheck your HTML code and check that the image references are correct.

Everything you need to start serving your HTML pages is available in the User's Manual so please read it, focus especially on the "Getting Started" chapter. ASP installation guidelines are available at http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/asp.html .
If you have problems, please describe them with precision in order to be able to help you.

I helped one person on the threads get their server up and I can probably help you too though there is no guarantee.

my email is webserver2003xp+vbgunz.com
my IM is vbgonzalez2003xp+msn.com

Just replace the + with an @ symbol for everything to work. If I am away just leave a message...

Good luck, stay positive!

Thank Guys for all your effort and now i know the root cause of it.Sorry for the delay of the posting.Well, the problem is my ISP cos they using dynamic IP even though they claim that the ip will change within 1 month time. The actual fact is that it keep changing not on the surface but within my ISP network.I guess they most likely using a hardware proxy server to do it.Now i solve it by using a DNS server to resolve my ip problem.Thank for the effort and help.
