I have just installed Abyss, Webeasymail, as well as ActiveHTML.
Welcome.asp , part of the Webeasymail package, shows up ok, but if try and login, I get the following,

Microsoft VBScript runtime error- Error '800a01a8'
Object required: 'Application(...)'
C:\WebServer\htdocs\web\default.asp, line 9

I don't have IIS installed on this XP Pro box. What could this mean?

Tanks!

Active HTML sucks , forget about it , you only get a 45 day license and its over , why the hell do PHP, PERL come free ? I know why because they don't care if its free , ActiveHTML can go straight to hell , if you feel like paying $169 for it , than thats you , PHP i recommend. 8)

What's on line 9 of your page?

I have ActiveHTML (got the free version before they went to pay for use).

I'm not familiar with Webeasymail but I can take a look at your code...

HELP!! I'm also getting the error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error- Error '800a01ad'
ActiveX component can't create object

I have XP home. (IIS and PWS are not available for XP home edition.)
I have Abyss, Active HTML, Microsoft Windows Script Hosting (WSH) 5.6, Visual Basic Runtime 6.0, installed. Among all sorts of other things I've tried in an effort to get my asp forms to work.

My forms are ASP / VBScript.
Can this work with Abyss? If so, how?
What else do I need to install?

I really don't want to have to learn another language and totally redo my lengthy forms.

Help??

You can find the AHTML FREE version floating around...so don't freak out.

I think your app is tryign to establish an APPLICATION object, probably from a global.asa file.

There were some posts on these boards regarding global.asa files, so you may want to do a search for that. Aprelium had a walkthrough showing you how to enable .asa files.

sorry I couldn't be of any further assistance...

just want to clear a few things up, IIS is the updated version of PWS, so you can't get PWS on win XP at all. Also IIS is effectively a webserver in itself and so fi you have abyss running at the same time, you will get conflicts, so make sure that IIS is disabled, as abyss is much better anyway :P
