Does anyone know of any that are easy to setup with chanserv and authserv. I tried IRCxpro but you have to pay big bucks for that.

thx in advance.

Not being funny, did you bother to read the list of the descriptions?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ignition/

According to the write up, approx 4/5th one down in the list is an IRCX server. as above.

You have to Read things.

You can try a few of these servers , it has been known that Excursion has a virus in it , this
is not true , I have up to date anti-virus software and had no problems at all with any of these
but use these at your own risk , hackers love the mIRC networks. Be safe and have fun , Later!

I had a bash a few years ago at implementing one, I got scared of the security risks that surround running an IRC server as well as requiring a huge amount of resources.

I tried looking in my links but I dont have the help links anymore.

IF your looking for a lite chat client, the PINO chat server is easy to setup and run, has authentication and you can make many chat rooms.

"PINO is a client/server system and so you can only connect by using PINO 3."

I want them to be able to connect via an IRC client.

How many people are you expecting?

If your looking to run a high-capacity server, you may as well start talikng to the Linux boys, a linux box will serve you better than a window box.

another consideration...
Bandwidth... If your internet is a lo-capacity connex, your not going to be able to use the internet as your connection will be swamped.

Dont care lol.....well i dont expect to many people but as i start to grow im planing to get around 50 people in the chat at any given time (im talkin in like 5 years).

I know linux would be better for this kind of stuff, but a bit of advice that i learned "Work with what you got" XD.

And i know that if there are like 2984379237492734987239487987 users in the server at the same time itll suck away from my bandwith (but i dont plan to have that many)....run a VoIP server and talk about bandwith consumption ;).

Well , They are File Servers known as Fserve , I don't know of any that can
allow you to host a IRC chat server , I just know about the file servers.

Just try a search on google.com as IRC Chat Server , maybe you will find
it in one of your searchings , im sorry that I couldn't help you out , I tried.
