|

I have noticed that alot users are posting in the Tutorials forum for help ,
now I may not be a moderator but im tired of seeing help requests when
im looking for a good tutorial for Abyss Web Server , I want all posters to
read this and if they see any help request in the Tutorials forum to not reply
to that person , we don't need confusion in this forum. Have A Nice Day!
Don't Reply To Any Help Requests in
the Tutorials Section , let them suffer ! |

If they don't read the forum area descriptions enough to decide where to post, they're not going to read this. The Tutorials section could do with a sticky post point out it's only for tutorials, but then, people don't read Inanimates sticky about connection problems, so they'll just ignore that too. The only real solution is a Tutorials section which only mods can move topics into...
Btw, why do you
seem to hit return
halfway across
every line ? |

I just figure that it makes the text look more even. |

That would depend entirely on the screen resolution you're viewing in :/ In 1600x1200 your posts just look retarded... What's wrong with letting the browser wrap it ? |

Well , most people don't use that resolution so stop critisizing me of how I write my posts or I will have Aprelium Ban you from this forum , all you do is make users in this forum feel like crap , leave me alone ok.
Edit: You used to be a good forum member what happened to your
good attitude towards other forum members ? Waiting for reply ! |

Last time I checked, I don't think suggesting someone doesn't press return every 2 words is a banning offence, nor do I think you have the right to waste Apreliums development time pestering them with requests to ban forum members who suggest you try typing properly. This is the off topic and polite discussions and my question was off topic and polite. QED. |

It was a comment about how your posts appear on the screen, not the content, or a direct personal insult to you. What would you prefer, "your posts look" ____ "when you hit return halfway through every line." Fill in the blank yourself and I'll happily edit my post.
They also look ____ on 1152x864, 1024x768 and still a bit strange on 800x600. What resolution do you work in ? |

Very interesting. Both of you guy have valid point. Even in Off-Topic discussion.
The last time I visit the tutorial section, it was a mess. Being off this forum for awhile and coming back, it still a mess. it almost the same as looking at a room that no one have ever clean up. Same go to topic. I is hard to know if the next topic related to the same problem I may have so I do not really need to start a new thread. Having to response to the same question from two separate thread or have to redirect other user to come to the thread to read up the answer. IMHO/E this is a big waste of resources and times. _________________ CapFusion,... |

The forum is a mess. All forums are a mess. All forums will always be a mess.
People will never really learn how to search and/or look around forums. Even sticky threads, as Anonymoose pointed out, will still be overlooked. I think it would be a good idea to have an active moderator that would delete posts that start with "How can I x," get responded with "Search the forums" or "Go to [url here]," and conclude with "Thank you." It would also be a good idea to hack phpBB to generate a popup window on a new user registration pointing a link to the search function (I would have no problem trying to make it). However, even with someone screaming to you to search the forums, there will always be people who don't.

God I have been wondering that for so long, but I never asked. It's ok TRUSTpunk, I'm not critisizing you in any way, however just letting the browser wrap the text would probably be a good idea (and it would save your little finger from hitting the enter key so many times). _________________ Bienvenidos! |
