maroe001,
It is possible to avoid the reconfiguration from scratch by moving your old setup from the old computer to the new with very little changes.
The easiest way to do so is to:
* Install Abyss Web Server X2 on the new hardware.
* Once the setup is over, stop the newly installed copy (no need to configure it or even enter your license information).
* Copy the web sites directories from the old computer to the new one. It is not required to copy them in paths with similar names/locations.
* Copy abyss.conf and persist.data from the old computer to the new computer. The old abyss.conf will replace the default one created with the newly installed Abyss Web Server X2. Do not start Abyss Web Server yet.
* Install the interpreters' packages you are using on the new computer (such as PHP and Perl). Do not declare them in Abyss Web Server (it should not be running at this time).
* Edit abyss.conf with a text editor (Windows Notepad is sufficient for this task).
* Locate paths inside the configuration file and replace them with the new ones that correspond to those of the new computer. Paths in the configuration file are between <root> and </root>, <path> and </path>, <errorfile> and </errorfile>, <file> and </file>, and <real> and </real>.
Note that paths like log/access.log are relative paths and they are actually relative to the server root (the value between <root> and </root>). So if you have relatives paths, try to recreate in the new server root the same structure that was in the server root of the old computer, and update <root>..</root> only (no need to update in such a case relative paths).
* Save abyss.conf and close it.
* Start Abyss Web Server.
If you have problems doing the changes, please send us (priority@aprelium.com) your abyss.conf file and let us know what is the new location of the old paths. _________________ Support Team
