I have setup a server type computer running 2000 Pro.
I have made an index.hml and I can see it and use the links that I made from all thw workstations within my office ( 4 each all using 2000 Pro )
I made user accounts, passwords, and all things needed for Abyss to work.
( I have another web site running and all is good with it.)
I made a user gropu calling it Internet Users insied of the server pc.
I gave all their, rights and passwords.
The problem is that when a user logs in to the new server site, they see the main page and all the links, but can go anywhere.
The site name is megserver.no-ip.info
user ID: test
password: test
What am I doing wrong? |

If your talking about the .ink files , those are files for local
computer shortcuts , you need to create link tags to get to
those websites from your website , use the following code.
Code: | <a href="http://website.com" target="_blank">Link Text</a> |

That is one trippy website; try not to make it with Microsoft Publisher. I viewed it in Mozilla, my normal browser, and it was truly crazy.
Anyway, can you explain better? Whenever I go into a directory, I see .lnk files (Windows Shortcuts). Is that part of the problem? _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Yes you should see at least one or more .ink.
This is due to not enought free space on the 3 125 Gig h\d in the server,
so Itryed to use shortcouts to the dir's.
I'm sorry about the index file as at this time 2003 Pub is the only maker that I have. I will be getting another one very soon.
But if you can see the .inl files I think that it is working, right? |

You can't just create standard Windows shortcuts, these will work for you but are not usable as a way of creating links on webpages. You need to set up Aliases using the Abyss console. Each alias can be set to point to the directory you want to link to, so for example you make a /tools alias which will point to \\server\tools, users will see the directory correctly.

For a decent free web page package, try this :
