Download it, and read the documentation on how to install. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Well all I see is for C. I see nothing about how to make GD wrok with PHP 4.3.x. I see one thing on the website that says unquote extension=php_gd2.dll, except mine is'nt quoted to begin with. Nor do I have a extension_dir thing. _mass confusion_ What I do have instead of "extension=php_gd2.dll" is ;extension=php_gd2.dll. I tried un-simi-coloning it, and then it gave me an error saying it couldnt find php_gd2.dll. I searched my system and I dont have that, so Im even more confused because they said it was as easy as that. Its like I installed the wrong version of php. But I just reinstalled PHP 4.3.4 with the Windows Installer found on php.net. So Im just confused.
If anyone could just give me like step for step, or a link for a tutorial or something, that would be a big help _________________ http://www.200mg.net |

You did the right thing by removing the semicolon from "extension=php_gd2.dll," however you need the DLL (as you said yourself). Open the ZIP version you have, and extract the php_gd2.dll from it into your PHP directory. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Thank you, masa.
A quote from PHP.net:
Quote: | PHP is not limited to creating just HTML output. It can also be used to create and manipulate image files in a variety of different image formats, including gif, png, jpg, wbmp, and xpm. Even more convenient, PHP can output image streams directly to a browser. You will need to compile PHP with the GD library of image functions for this to work. GD and PHP may also require other libraries, depending on which image formats you want to work with. |
Basically, you can "...create and manipulate..." images in a web browser. Someone who posted a thread earlier needed GD for a Photo Gallery he was making. So when it comes to an image-based (and driven) website, GD can be useful. _________________ Bienvenidos! |
