Please read our Perl installation guide at http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/perl.html . If your problem persists, repost your question with more details. _________________ Support Team

I have the same problem. I've read and followed the instructions, but getting the perl script to execute does not work. I've called the script (a simple 'Hello World') from an html page in htdocs, and it executes but in the ms command window that flashes and disappears. Dropping the perl file into a browser or calling via locating a file with the browser simply displays it as text.
Any help? |

Dropping a file in the browser doesn't invoke the script from the web server.
Browse http://127.0.0.1/scriptname.pl to run your script. _________________ Support Team

Still no luck. I start the web server. My cgi has path /cgi-bin and /. My perl is in d:/bin/perl/perl.exe (build 5.8.0). I've set to use register and !# path. I have an index.htm file in the cgi-bin that is found from my test page in htdocs\test just fine using <a href=C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\cgi-bin\index.htm>test</a>. By the way, why does it require an absolute path? Shouldn't the path to the cgi be resolved to using just \cgi-bin\filename.pl?
I know the perl works in a ms command window. I've tested it with "perl howd.pl" and get the correct output. From html, I click the link from test.html and get Page not Found. I remove the !# perl path and I get
print "\n"; print "\n"; print "\n"; print "\n"; print "\n"; print "
Hello World with Perl
\n"; print "
Howdy World\n"; print "\n"; print "\n";
The Hello World with Perl is <h1>Hello World with Perl</h1> in the file.
So, only one line is marked up. Any help? I suspect a configuration glitch.
Thanks, |

grasshopper....you must associate the .pl file with perl for it to work....otherwise you will see only text!
perl and php scripting is easy.....
