All righty!
I'm behind an ActionTec router. Windows XP, DSL connection, Pent. 4 processor.
My LOCAL ip address is: 192.168.0.12
My router's PUBLIC ip address is (currently): 64.65.145.133
My router's LOCAL ip address is: 192.168.0.1/
My no-ip address is: http://designco.serveftp.com
I have port 8080 properly forwarded to my local ip address and CanYouSeeMe.org confirms it is open.
Router configuration is as such:
"8080-8081 tcp 192.168.0.12"
When I run Abyss, it says this:
---------------------------------
Abyss Web Server X1 (v 1.2.2.2)
Copyright © Aprelium Technologies - 2001-2004
Web server local URL: http://127.0.0.1:8000/
Console local URL: http://127.0.0.1:9999/
Web server local URL: http://127.0.0.1:8000/
Console local URL: http://127.0.0.1:9999/
Web server local URL: http://127.0.0.1:8000/
Console local URL: http://127.0.0.1:8080/
------------------------------------
Now, here's the problem:
When I check my website from a computer OUTSIDE of my LAN, whose internet connection is indeed working, I get a "cannot connect" or "connection refused" error.
When I check it from a computer INSIDE of my LAN, I geet my router's configuration page.
I hope i provided adequate information and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You must have forgot to change the port
inside the Abyss Web Server console to
port 8080 , do that and you will be up ! 8)
Also your router should be setup like
ports 8080 to 8080 not 8080 to 8081 |

And about the internal problem: If you try to access your IP from inside the network, a majority of routers will not allow you. Instead, like you said, they will show the configuration page. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Since I am not currently on the same IP as my server, I use http://www.websitepulse.com/tools.php3 instead. It lets you enter a hostname. _________________ Bienvenidos! |
