The trouble you face isn't related to the system you are using. It is clear it is related to your network topology.
Without clear information about what you are using to connect to the internet (DSL, modem or LAN) and whether you are behind a firewall, it will be hard to help you solve your problem. _________________ Support Team

All access to your web server (or your computer) from the internet is done through your IP address. They can't use your machine id name for accessing your computer from the internet.
Because you have an xDSL connection with dynamic ip address, your allocated IP address will most likely change from time to time. Anyway, this IP address is what you need for testing your web server.
You can find your allocated IP address several ways... I often use http://www.whatismyip.com for some of my testing... |

When I access your address, I get the UNDER CONSTRUCTION page... This page looks like it's from the Personal Web Server (PWS) in Windows 98. Do you have PWS installed ?? |

Some xDSL solutions requires to set the network address translation (NAT) in the xDSL router. My solution does this. Which means that the dynamic allocated IP address is assigned to the router, not my computer.
My computer have a fake IP address, e.g. 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1 ... this means I have to update the routers NAT table, to route traffic on port 80 to my local computer IP address/port...
Could this be the problem ?? |
