Hello, first of let me publicly thank aprelium for such a great product. Easy installation, and configuration and working in no time. Nice one and thanks.

I've been reading the forums for a couple of days or so now, but can cant find the answer i need to my question. So here i am.

I have managed to get my server running ok. But am struggling with mysql and phpmyadmin. I have followed the 2 tutorial post here that explain how to go about installing both, but sorry that didnt help.

I just can get to the phpmyadmin interface.

When i open WinMySql i see that My ODBC is not found and that the Driver 3.51 is not found either.

I can see my web pages localy and through no-ip.com, its just getting to the damn msql control to change passwords.
BTW, if i take the index pages out of the sub directories i can see all the file within.

Please help this is doin my nut in!

Thanks to anyone in advance

Dayne

BTW i cant say as and when my server will be online permanently, but you make catch it online or under production here from time to time.

At the moment its very basic and wont change much for the moment. Its really in its server testing stages.

Hello Dayne,
First off, can you be more detailed about "the fact i cant acces phpMyAdmin"?
What are you getting? Errors? "page cannot be displayed"?

To start off...
Check your username and password in your confg.inc.php file and
make sure it's exactly the same as the ones you gave MySQL.

Waiting for your reply...

Moxxnixx, thanks for answering.

I guess i should have been a little more specific. When i test to try and access phpmyadmin, i manage to get to the directory ok, and i can see all the files show up as a list. But to use them or see them in a workable/manipulable form just wont happen. My password is ok and the same in both files. But that doesnt do anything.

Aaarrgghhh, im pulling my hair out :D

OK, you can actually SEE your database in phpmyadmin, you just can't edit them, correct?

Ok. we are getting somewhere, thanks for the pic.

I still dont know what the problem is, but from what you said:
Quote:

I see i have done something completely wrong in the set-up process. Where exactly im not sure.

within my abyss directory i have the 2 new folders created when installing mysql and admin, they are called database>mysql and the other is scripts>phpMyAdmin>etc. I am thinking its here somewhere.

Sorry this is real noob stuff to most of you and probably straight forward.

Dayne

BTW i did'nt see what your image shows, but that was exactly what i was hoping to see.

GEEZ!!! It's my damn ISP. It keeps cutting off every 10 minutes or so.
BTW, we just got 12 inches of snow in the last 5 hours.
That's probably the problem. It seems to be OK now.
(I know, I said that half an hour ago  )

PostPosted: Tue Dec 09, 2003 11:56 pm    Post subject: How did you see it then Reply with quote

Did you click on the link or can you see inside my machine 8O

If you clicked on the link what happened?

If things went a bit odd then you have'nt installed rover as explained on the page. Rover is a 3D plugin for internet explorer (mac, opera mozilla are under re-production) its a nagware but it seems that its finally going to be freeware with even opensource projects in view. It allows you to see 3D websites/Games/or presentations on your computor and even build them yourself. If you know HTML then you can 3DML. Its a process of snapping pre-built 3D objects together, such as cubes, spheres, pyramids etc etc etc or even your own 3d models. We have even the right to use the textures from the 1st 4 of the Tomb Raider games within our creations.

It does'nt matter who you are fan of or what your product is, you can use 3dml rich media to present close or far fetched ideas as you like.
We have just welcomed back to the community the original scripter/coder/builder of Rover. He is in process of re-setting up for a beta test on an oldlie but goldie feature, that was removed, Video streaming. Its excellent you can diffuse your own Films Videos home movies etc in your own virtual cinema. The only real limits with this language, after completing the offline tutorial (reasonably (24 page) short), is your own imagination.

As to your question the abyss.3dml is a 3D file that i created in 5 minutes to present Abyss, but using only a few images found on the site. I could use some high defenition images so i can rework them to the best size for the best display/download time. It is a very basic 3D environement.

BTW some pointers for this 3D language.
1. Older slower machines may find it a little difficult, (lag effects)
2. Nvidia2 and + are all fine, check with www.flatland.com for more info about ATI
3. You can get the tutorial in French www.flatland.com.fr
4. You need dirextX 8+
5. Once you have downloaded and installed Rover, click on the icon on your desktop. This will start rover. In the bottom left corner you will see a series of options for rover. use the ' ? ' options button. In the popup select activate 3D acceleration. If you cant then that means you video card is'nt compatible. And also select show all errors. That way if you visit a world and there is a bug preventing the display, it will show you and you can inform the creator.

Have fun

Dayne

Thanks. No, I didn't click on any of the links. I just saw the filename in the status bar and was curious.

I'm more into screensaver creation. It'll be cool when I learn to insert 3D models in my screensavers,
but that's a long way down the road as I'm still learning basic coding right now.

Dude, got a little off track, didn't we.

Anyway, check your user privileges in phpmyadmin. Make sure
everything is check-marked in Data, Structure and Administration.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

It was a stupid mistake, i simply forgot to add the index.php extension in the server. From there it was easy going. Thanks for trying anyway Moxxnixx. :D
