hi
I've followed questions and answers from access outside network . this is just now not a question. It's too early for me ;-)
First I must -for myself- get clear, why I can't see my index.html or romething else (i.e. perl-scrips) inside my small network.
it's a peer-to-peer_network,working with ms-data/printsharing, netbios, netbeui (over tcpip) and of course tcpip. pc's range from os2 to winxp.
on main machine works KEN (a software proxy from avm, connected via adsl to internet), there's also ABYSS (port 8080) and perl/cgi and an avanti-server (a special database connector for libraries. I'm developing databases with allegro-c...)
ok, just now my problem:
on this main machine, I can see all. working cgi_scripts, connected via avanti.server to an allegro-c_database. NO problem. it works fine for an adresse like this:
http://127.0.0.1:8080/iz/iz.pl
with other machines, like winxp or os2,I can do all: internet/email/ftp and others. BUT not to jump on adress like http://192.168.115.1:8080/iz/iz.pl (this is the intranet_adress for main machine) Why is this so? I don't understand.
I've opened 8080_port and 4949_port in KEN (=proxy); but I think these openings are only for traffic to outside from my small intranet; I'm right?
Does there exist some settings to oben port 8080 INSIDE my intranet? silly question.... ?!
What have I done wrong?
thank You very much
Yours

Hi Klaus,
use the Name of your Server - PC instead of the IP - Address.
http://servername/.......
I found the solution yesterday, i'm running the same Configuration with KEN and Abyss (I use Port 80 for Abyss)
hope i could help you

hi
friendly people vom avm(gemany) has helped me ;-)
here's (my) solution:
If You want to see You abyss_server inside Your small ingranet, You must do something ion settings: MSIE: there something like this: "no proxy for.." There you must declare alle adresses for machines, they don't get thru proxy_server_adress. it means, if I delcare: 192.168.115.1 (this is my abyss_server); and I'm siitting here at 192.168.115.4 (my os2_machine); I must declare at ...115.4 THIS: no proxy for: "192.168.115.1".
If I do this, machine ...115.1 is not giving away askings for web_server. without this setting, abyss can't be questioned.
strange? yes. but it works. ;-)
hi peter
what do you mean, You're using port 80 for abyss. I think ken is using pt 80 for intern_web_server (http)...?
