HowTo ?: Abyss/Webcam2000 (Webcam as backend to CGI script)

Using Abyss X1 / Perl on WindowsME.

I am online with ADSL, but with IP supplied Router/Firewall which ONLY allows port 80 to a single inside IP adress.
Fine for Abyss and my previous needs...

But now I got my first digicam and want to play with webcam as well.. I just cant make it work :oops:

Found the free Webcam2000 which can work as "backend to CGIscript" or as a dedicated "webserver" on port X.
I can make the webcam public with the builtin webserver but I do NOT want to skip Abyss, so I want to go for the second possibility with the CGI script ?!

Not very knowledgeable on webdesign so I need to ask this question...:

How do I set up Abyss/Webcam2000, so I can use both Abyss and the Webcam2000 with a CGI script, on the same PC ?
I think I need "something/a script" on Abyss webserver which instructs the webcam2000 program to send a picture to the clients browser, but for the love of god, i cannot find any hints anywhere on HOW to accomplish this task, dang! :) ?

I hope I made myself so clear that somebody feels like throwing a few words or hints of enlightment this way ? ;)

We tested WebCam2000 and we were unable to find a way to get it act as a backend for a CGI script directly.
The best to do is to enable its mini-webserver on port 8080 for example and to put in your web pages hosted by Abyss:

<IMG SRC="http://yourmachine:8080/">

If you want to get the images in your CGI script to process them for example, you'll have to enable the mini-webserver of WebCam2000 and to download the image to the CGI script: if you want an example, let us know.

I would very much like an example of how to use the picture in CGI, because I will not be able to use <IMG SRC= "http://mymachine:8080"> because my ISP will only forward port 80 into my LAN ?
I *could* exchange the router/firewall with something I configure myself to let both ports be forwarded - but I would like to pursue the belief that the inside server on port 80 should be able to send back the images of the miniwebserver from webcam2000, running on the same server. Silly me just dont yet know how to do so :lol:
