I am seeing the same thing as you do. The time/date issues look like somewhere a time was reset (in unix time, that is January 1, 1970). I see it as 1969 though (most likely due to my time offset).

Yes. I tried on another Debian-based (it comes only with root and defaults to it), and the same thing gets on the way.
