Your advice was excellent.... and lets me get to an 'Internal Error 500' message.
This is what the log says:

I downloaded Rebol to my Mepis Linux system since after uploading my Windows de-bugged blog.r to a Linux host...it fails to run there. I presume to have to 're-debug it' under Linux and upload again ...

I changed my browse address from 127.0.0.1 to localhost and the pages
started being retrieved from AByss.

I have seen this issue before....why the two URLs aren't interchangeable

Unfortunately nothing different happens.
I agree that I.E. is a poor product to use when simply wanting to access localhost and that it is not an Abyss issue.

I asked Telnet to connect on 80 ...BUT Aprelium was probably not running
(ugh !!)

I made sure it was running....now Telnet says:

"Could not connect to host on port 23"

I have not altered any default Aprelium settings...though I did peruse the

The message below occurs whether I choose 'Show Console' or 'Browse Website' after right-clicking the tray icon on Win 2000 Pro.
I have checked the /SYTEm32/etc/hosts and 127.0.0.1 is included there. ...
