how can I learn to decipher my server log - being relatively new to HTTP/hosting/servers etc , I would like to be able to understand the entries in laymans terms - or even learn the syntax of entries ...

How come there are so many different IP no's?,..... look!

When I look at my server log, it consistently contains entries from an IP address which is similar to mine, the latest one being
