Thanks but it's all OK now, I uninstalled, deleted all directories and cleaned the reigstry then did a clean install and ow it's working perfectly.

It couldn't listen at port 8000 but it auto detected port 8001 and seems to be running OK. Apart from the SSI's and CGI scripts not working.

I have skype running in the background.

I have the free version of abyss on my home computer and at work. I only use it for testing websites on my machine so I can see ssi's etc working.
