I did search for this but didn't find anything relevent. The southern states in Australia have gone to daylight saving from today and now my server time is 1 hour ahead (we don't have D/S in Queensland). The system time is correct but the server is now GMT+1100 instead of GMT+1000. Can anyone tell me how to fix this very annoying problem?

You may have to change the time setting on any scripts you use as they usually take into account daylight savings.

Thanks, Andy, but I don't quite follow you. I don't have any scripts running that require the current time.

Then im not sure what you mean either. If the time on the server is correct then it is correct... Daylight savings only changes the time automatically. You can turn it off in time settings as far as I know but I dont see how this would help if the time was already correct.

kev1952, where are you seeing a "server time" different from your system time?

The software relies of the day saving time information it gets from the operating system when it starts. Does restarting Abyss Web Server help?

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you all. I have established that the problem is not with the server time but with a stats script that I run. I'm using the "date()" function to get current time and date and find it comes up with GMT+1100 (should be GMT+1000).

I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that the "date()" function would get it's information from the system time setting. If so then I'm stumped because the system time/date is correct. The obvious cause would be an automatic change to daylight saving time but the system clock is not set to do that (my timezone is "(GMT+1000) Brisbane").

It's not a problem as far as the site goes but it is very annoying for me (I'm the only one that sees the stats output).

You might check this search out. Links 3 and 4 should be useful.

To see available timezones, go to http://www.theprojects.org/dev/zone.txt.
