G'day,
In order to serve cgi scripts, you'll be looking for the Perl scripting engine to plug-into Abyss.
http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/?_x=1 Is the site to go to - You're after the ActivePerl releases (I'm using the latest one, it works really well)
You'll need to register to download it, but its free and there's no strings attached.
As for serving cgi scripts, after you've set Abyss up to use the Perl interpreter, you can create a cgi-bin directory in your wwwroot directory. Place your cgi scripts into there, and then you'll be able to load them from your site address, EG:
Code: | http://www.example.com/cgi-bin/exampleScript.cgi |
Regarding PHP - Have you followed the instructions on the Aprelium site?
http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/php5win.html
They're really good for getting things going.
It'll show you how to set it up, and to include .php files as indexes etc.
As for location, php scripts can be placed anywhere, so long as they're working, and Abyss has been taught how to process them (Following the guide) then it should all work.
Good luck, and throw any questions or problems here, people are really helpful.
Cheers,

Present day versions of Abyss require no cgi-bin folder as Abyss knows cgi scripts by their file extension. This means you can place them anywhere. However, you can create a cgi-bin if this is easier for you. It won't affect the scripts performance. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)
