There's no option, have tried Linux but don't like it. The installation went fine, but it had no driver for my network card, waste of time. I won't be trying Linux again for a while.

i use both, i was going to host gameserver and abyss off my linux but i have yet to even install a program or get it online ((i keep screwing it up and reformating the drive its a cheap 80g drive so no worries))

i have linux on one machine and winxp on the other, and the more i have come to be frustrated with both, altho linux seems to be better ((except it doesnt know what to do with a .EXE file which bugs me to no end))

I also use them both. xp and suse...

For those who dont know Linux, but want to try it...for an hour or so, you can download a Live CD.
You simply burn the iso, and boot your pc. Nothing will happen to your current OS.

The Linux OS runs from the CD.

A collection of Live CD`s can be found here:

My personal favorite is SLAX, wich can be found here:
http://slax.linux-live.org

Some screenshots of Slax:

Just give it a try :-)

Using both. WinXP and Xandros 3.
IMO, Xandros is probably the most user-friendly of the 'nix family.
It's very similar to a windows-type environment.

For those who want to start with Linux and do not have the time/resources to download the CDs and burn them, have a look on http://shipit.ubuntulinux.org/ .
All you have to do is to fill a form and Ubuntu project will ship Linux Ubuntu CDs to you anywhere in the world. Best of all, this is absolutely FREE and you do not even pay the shipping costs.

outside of installing programs and getting my network working mephis linux pwns, for a 5gig OS, it has insane amounts of screensavers ((like 75)) and large amounts of games, tron ((the old one)) and mahjong etc and so on

installing programs can be a challange as most programs use .exe and getting them to work on linux is a challange

Windows...

Just more versatile. If I'm spending this much time on my site and 'puter, AND most businesses use some flavor of Windows, why not stick to mastering the most common?

Easy to use, configure, and KNOWS what to do with an .exe file!

Lol, very good point. At least Windows is compatable with software you buy!

Point to Andy there, but the only reason I haven't switched this old box to Linux is there seems to be no port to the Ipod. And someone's probably working on that.
