|
|
Hi all,
Just one more quick question if I may....
I've set up several sub-directories in my Abyss server's root documents directory, like so:
/docs
/images
/stuff
/testing
I have directory listing on, so right now anyone visiting my server would see those four subdirs listed, and would be able to click into any of them...which is how I want it set up except for one thing....
....I'd like the "/testing" sub-directory not to be visible at all. In other words, I want visitors to my site's root directory to just see the other three subdirs listed...not the "testing" one.
I know I can *deny* a listing *within* the testing subdir, but that only happens if someone tries to click into it. Is there any way to also prevent the testing subdir from being displayed in the root directory list in the first place?
Thanks,
Dave |

Abyss Web Server has an option under "Directory Listing" called "Hidden Files"
where you can hide File/Folders from the Abyss Web Server Directory Listing. |

Yep, I saw that, but that's just for hiding files, isn't it? I tried to use it to hide the /testing directory but it didn't work.
Also, even if I could use it to hide directories, as far as I can see, it wouldn't work in this case because to hide /testing I'd have to hide the entire root directory, wouldn't I?

Just checked that section's help file, and confirmed it:
Hidden Files: The file names that are equal or that match with the listed file name patterns in this table are not included in the directory listings. See the "Patterns Format" appendix for more information about patterns. This table should only contain file names with no path references. |
