cannot get mysql to work

I went through the mysql tutorials and for some reason I do not see the file winmysqladmin so i do not know what I am doing wrong.

Is there anyone who can be available to chat on icq to walk me through it?

If you go to www.TRUSTAbyss.com, go through the tutorial there. You will need to download PHP4 and MySQL 4.0.24 for best results.

Yes that is where i went. I am able to do download things. But when it told me to find the file winmysqladmin.exe i could not find it anywhere that is where I am hung up.

No, its the same with win98 and other operating systems. You need to look in c:\mysql\bin\mysqladmin.exe, not winmysqladmin.exe.

V4.1 does not have the winmysqladmin.exe so you need the other one. The link for v4.0.24 is:

This is the version you require if you want winmysqladmin.exe and as I explained above, its the best version to use for PHP4.

Ok, i did as you shown and downloaded the correct version 4.0 and then i found the winmysqladmin.exe. When i ran it i could then make it so it shows as a traffic light in my lower right corner. So i think it is working even though i have no idea right now what mysql is good for 8)
