|
|
hi, i just setup a server using aybss and i have 2 computers routed together into the internet. i found out my ip as 192.168.1.101:80 and i tried to access the site on both computers and it works, but when ever a computer outside my LAN tries to get to it they cant access it. im kinda new to this stuff, so is there a way i can make it possible for everyone on the internet network access that ip?
never mind i didnt see the tutorial sticky, im in school right now so im going to go home and access the router port for my linksys router and fix it |

the IP address you've got is private, and will only work on your home network (LAN). To obtain your internet IP address goto: http://www.aprelium.com/ip
or your router may provide your internet IP address. _________________ Olly |

In that case, looks like your site is working just fine... 10:05 GMT. |

What you want is a free subdomain - have a look at DynDNS.org, No-IP.com or Afraid.org. Take your pick :) If you search the board for whichever of the above you decide to use you should find further setup/configuration instructions. All 3 sites also have good help/FAQ sections on their own site. |
