hi,
i was just wondering, i have managed to get my web server up and running great and works AWESOME, but i have i microsoft broadband netwrok (mn500) and i set up port fowarding. i have a good firewall/virus scanner but, is it safe for me to have port 80 open? could it be a security risk? all of my other ports are stealthed and safe, but the server port kinda bugs me a bit. i am hardly a hacker target but i just wanted to make sure my http port is safe, is there any additional software you can get that makes sure the server port doesnt allow any access to my computer?? or is abbyss good enough to prevent that???

I know thats a lot of questions, but if someone knows please let me know ;) thx.

oh and my site is www.liamhockley.cjb.net , (nothing on it yet)

Running a webserver is a security risk - however it is one you can choose whether to take. There are no known exploits for the current versions of Abyss - this means leaving port 80 open is as safe as it can be. You cannot stealth or hide the port or your server will not work. Running Abyss is certainly safer than running IIS on your machine...
