Blacklisted ips to stop SMTP Hijacking.

Hey Guys,

I'v Been battling an smtp hijack by a mass mailer for sometime and though I would like to close it off to the outside world this is not possible for me. So by using a program called active ports I have been able to come up with a list of Ip addresses that I have been able to ban. However I'm sure this isn't all of them so feel free to add to the list.

Do you mean someone is attempting to connect to your mail server to send spam ? If so, you should have a look at the Spamhaus Block List (SBL) - a huge list of known IPs / ranges of spammers in general.

I'm curious as to why you need to ban these IPs - if your mailserver is properly configured, they should be nothing to worry about; although they may try to send mail, they will fail. Also, your list of "email addresses" is a list of host names (!)

Are you running an open relay ?

All i did was enable SMTP auth and used like 2 address as trusted addresses.
