Firstly, i hate that word. "Newbie"
Anyway, i am new to using Abyss and although all of the guides ect. have been helpful, i'm still having problems.
I've created my site using basic html (no cgi ect.), i've put all of the pages in the /htdocs file, i'm running the server, i know my IP address ect.
To my knowledge all should should be fine and dandy.
I can view the site on my computer using the default " http://127.0.0.1/" address. I know that to allow other to view the site over the web, your real IP address has to be somewhere in the address but from there, i know nothing.
If someone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
My IP address: 195.93.32.11
My Webserver: Aol 8.0
My OS: Windows 98 SE
If any of that is helpful.
Once again, thanks a lot.

Do you have a firewall or router? also is your IP address static or dymantec? it sounds like you just need to configure your router/firewall to allow people in. |

I'm guessing there wouldn't be so is there another way without paying for a new web application? |

Even if you paid for a web server it still wouldnt work...it might if it had built in proxy but then it would get very messy after that. My guess is that you are going to have to figure out how to turn off the firewall inside AOL. (The firewall would be my best guess is the thing that does this...). _________________
