Hi Everyone,

I get a Server 500 Internal Error when I attempt to access Web pages (for testing purposes) on a Windows 98 PC installed with Abyss Server via the http://127.0.0.1/ or http://localhost/ address. I can access the Control Panel via http://127.0.0.1:9999/ address ok and in the past have been able to view Web pages via a second PC (this PC is no longer available).

I have tried the things suggested in the Support Documentation and this Forum for this problem but without success as follows:

(1) Checked Windows hosts file. My hosts file contains the single line
127.0.0.1 localhost which seems ok to me.

(2) Changed the server port to another number rather than the default of 80.

(3) Checked that there are no proxy settings set in the browser.

Any other advice to overcome this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

bsr

This sounds like your using trustpunk's PHP script to have subdomains, do you have a index.html or index.php file, if either could you post the code.

Hi k1ll3rdr4g0n,

No, I'm not using trustpunk's php script to have multiple domains.

I contacted the Aprelium Support Team about my problem and they indicated that this issue has arisen because I have upgraded a very old version of Abyss Server. This led me to perform a fresh install of the latest Abyss Server version in a new folder and I can now access Web pages via the http://127.0.0.1 and http://localhost addresses.

Regards,

bsr
