Hello,
When you visit a web site hosted by Abyss HTTP Server, you see their typical CTCP version:
Quote: | Abyss Web Server X1
© Aprelium Technologies - 2001-2004 |
Almost all of the web servers do this, but I was wondering.
Is there any way to change the text to something else...like:
"Apache/1.3.27 Server at games.mnementh.co.uk Port 80" etc.
Why would you want to do this? Well, if there is ever a security exploit for Abyss, they wouldn't think of exploiting it, since Apache would be listed.
I realize that this is a great way of advertising, but I promise that word-of-mouth is the most effective (and rest assured, I'll be spreading the word about this awesome program) |

this is not possible at the moment, without reverse engineering the software, which is illegal _________________ Olly |

why don't you create custom error pages? Won't that take care of it?
Anytime an error occurs, have it go to one of your error pages or index page or something, then, the bad guys wouldn't know anything about the server.
Maybe you are talking about something else...I don't know, it's the 4th of July and I've been tapping the rockies for a while...
