I'm trying to set my web site up, and I'm new with this. My problem is about port forwarding I think...
I've tried to install Abyss Web Server X1 at the PC connected to the (USB) DSL Modem and it was all ok... My site is online and without problems, but when I Uninstalled it and tried to install it on other (HUB connected) computer of that network it stops working! The site is only available at the local network and under my local network ip. I've tried to "reroute" port 80 by accessing to the connection properties in the PC connected to the modem and setting the Web Server Service (TCP port 80) "pointing" to my ip (192.168.0.212) and nothing seems to change... Can someone help, please?... I'm sure that the Abyss Web Server program is not in the "main" PC, so the problem is not there... I don't know how to solve it.
Please excuse my bad english!

What tests have you done to test the accessibility of the site? What error messages are you having. _________________ Support Team

Just for starters, can you see your website from your local network, type in http://ip-address of webserver
At least you will know its working, then you can get on to routing. I suspect that you need to route port 80 from yout dsl to your webserver pc, usually this would be done on your router |

Well, the test I've done after installing and configuring the server was:
1) Visited http://www.whatismyip.com
2) with that info I put http://my_ip/ in my cell phone browser
I've tried everything to get it workin' but I get nothing but the "Cancelled Action" Internet Explorer error page...
My Pc is connected with a HUB to the PC connected to the USB modem. I've tried turning off the Windows firewall and "rerouting" port 80 by accessing to the connection properties in the PC connected to the modem and setting the "Web Server" Service (TCP port 80) "pointing" to my ip (192.168.0.212) but all was unuseful.
Finaly when installed in the PC connected to the DSL modem it worked ok... my home page was under that ip with the same two steps. _________________ Argentina! Girls, beer... the paradise... |
