I have screensavers on my site.
but when people click the linkto the file i.e. http://www.patiolanterns.com/Screensavers/patiolanternsab1.exe or even http://www.patiolanterns.com/Screensavers/patiolanternsab1.scr ,the actual file opens on my cpu that is hosting my sites (I am on a home network) and the person trying to get the file gets a timeout error?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi patiolanterns--

If the problem is that the exe's are being executed then you need to have them in a directory/folder that is not executable.

If you have "/" in your cgi parameters/cgi paths then this may happen. If you are using the newest version of abyss, you can make your htdoc directory and subfolders non-executable (by removing the "/"). Then, I believe, you can get around this problem.

Regards,
Axis

If you use the latest version of Abyss and you want to use php just change the / to /*.php in your CGI paths table.

You solve your exe loading error and can still use php scripts anywhere on your server.
