Network Newbie Doofus is stuck - please help, if possible

Exactly as it says. I have very little idea of what I'm doing here. I've got a decent knowledge of computers, since I build them, but this web server malarky might as well be ancient greek. I downloaded the software, installed it, I have the icon running on the corner ... BUT I cannont log in to the localhost site. It keeps telling me an internet connection is not available. I'm not running it through a proxy, and I believe I've looked at every other option I'm aware of. I can provide more information if asked for, but be warned ... not much more. Maybe the fact I'm running Novell is a contributing factor, but that was installed as one possible solution to my problem, which didn't work.

So, if anyone can help, I'd certainly appreciate it!

I actually got it running all by myself! I changed the function of the machine from Desktop to Internet Server. Dunno whether this did it or not, but it was the only significant change to my system I performed, and I was able to access the Aprelium Web Server main page. So if anyone else is having trouble - though I doubt it - you may want to check your machine configuration to see if you're set up as a server.
