Hi, everyone!
I'm running Abyss on my W98se box (and it works a dream! Thanks Aprelium!).
Strange problem last night - I powered down my box to do some maintenance, switching off Abyss and Mysql server first. When asked to Shutdown, Windoze replied it could not until a program was terminated (it did not specify which program - as far as I was concerned only Windows was now running!). On checking the running apps info, php.exe was reported as still running. The box refused all efforts to shutdown, so I was forced to hit the power button. One thing I'm sure of is that there was ZERO server traffic going on at the point I closed Abbyss/Mysql.
This morning, I fired it up again and sat through a scandisk. When my desktop appeared, I have a strange new icon sitting proudly on it, labelled "lib.exe". The icon refuses to be deleted, saying windoze is using it.
I've done a quick search for lib.exe and did find descriptions of it and what it does (?? Heh!), but I'm none the wiser as to why it has suddenly appeared on my desktop!
Any clues...? Anyone...?
Thanks,
John Mc
EDIT: My bad! That should read "lid.exe".... a simple search reveals just how STUPID I have been! Ack! Say hello to my first virus infection and some updated virus definitions..... |
