i tried that and its more agro than its worth hostind your own dns server means you control your own mx records ip adress cnames and all the rest of it on your pc which is not easy i would suggest you take a look at zoneedit.com they are good and free and lots of useful explanations too you are already halfway to hosting your own website if you have downloaded abyss #
do you have a static ip address?
if not zoneedit also offer dynamic dns software |

Try SimpleDNS Pro. It's not free, but, it is cheap.
