CPanel has absolutely nothing to do with Abyss. As far as I'm aware it is only intended for use on Apache - I certainly haven't seen anyone here mention they have managed to adapt it.
Abyss doesn't currently support subdomains directly, but it does support them via script. Full multisite/subdomain support is (eagerly :D) expected in the next version.
Have a look at this topic in the tutorial section for details on how to use scripting to set up subdomains.

Hi all,
CPanel, Apache or Abyss cannot create a subdomain for you. A subdomain is declared in your DNS server configuration. Usually, on Unix machines, the DNS server is on the same machine where Apache runs, so CPanel can declare the subdomain to the DNS server immediatly.
Now, to have a subdomain, you must contact the company/people who are hosting your DNS name (the guys who are responsible of yoru name servers NS1 and NS2). _________________ Support Team

Oops, didn't read that properly - I assumed they already had the subdomain and wanted to use it... |
