A friend told me when he tried to register on my boards, he got an error about not being able to send the email. I tried to register a new suer and got an error messeage about an smtp server, so Iturned off using smtp server in the config. I tried making aother user and got this error instead:
Failed sending email :: PHP ::
DEBUG MODE
Line : 234
File : C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\forum\phpBB2\includes\emailer.php
The new suer IS created, but it gets that error. I'm pretty sure its the auth email going out to the user to auth the account made with the email.
Whats wrong and hwo do I fix this? |

Set the SMTP server parameter to your ISP Outgoing mail server you use in Outllok (or your mail program).

Login as the admin account on the forum and click
on the administration panel link at the bottom of
the page, then click Configuration under General Admin
in the links at the left. then on the configuration page
at the bottom you will find the mail settings. |

It's in your Outlook express account properties.
(smtp.yourisp.com)
or
(smtp.whateversendsyourmail.com)
