ubidubi,

its a little more complicated than that, your ISP may block port 80 (most residential broadband IPS's do). also your ISP may use dynamic IP's, you may want to check into a dynamicDNS ... like http://www.no-ip.com

If you made a web-page, the implication is that you have an index.htm, or index.html file somewhere. Do you? If so, what you need to do to access it from outside is http://IP/index.htm(l)

If you have an index file, and you just type http://IP, then the page wont load because it doesn't have the right page name.

If you don't have an index file, you should start by making one of you want to make a page. Otherwise it will just spit out a list of all the files in your root directory.

A router? Well that can be an issue. I had to foward my servers port with my linksys router, otherwise is viewed my routers login page, which isn't good. And yes, you ISP may be blocking post 80 (mine was).

1. login to your Router
2. open port 80
3. forward all request on port 80 to port 80 on your pc
4. allow access to Abyss on your firewall

if the above doesn't solve your probs just call your ISP

Not true at all, do you type www.google.com/index.html or www.hotmail.com/index.html ? :D If no file name is entered, the server will return the index file according to the rules you have set up under the Server Parameters options. Defaults are index.htm and index.html.

If you turn off Automatic Directory Indexing it won't do this. Any directory without an index file will return a 403 forbidden if you try and browse it directly.
