instead of the numbered ip address can we all so see the actual address
eg www.goose.com instead of 203.3.9.7.2
otherwise users who wish to test the server wont beable to see the test site online to see if your server works.

This is not Abyss fault. This is how TCP/IP protocol (the protocol on which most internet protocols are built) works.
Besides, it is often very hard to guess the domain name from the IP especially if you are behind a router. In such a case, the IP that must be taken into account is the router external IP and not the IP of the computer on which Abyss is running. And knowing the external IP of the router is not easy.

it can be done, but i cannot remember how i did it when i was testing your web server a while back. I know part of the naming address but the front part alludes me at the moment. I will let you know if i remember it or find another way. :D

there is a little tool (script) that will show your hostname ....even with the numbers :wink:
its called ez ip tracker. it sits on hotscripts.com website.
