Ok to link to files on your web site directory for others to download , go to your htdocs and make new folders for example.
inside your htdocs you have a folder named "downloads" to download a file or image inside that directory you put
http://yourip/downloads/your_file.jpg or .exe or .zip lol
To view whats inside the directory if you don't have a index.html file in downloads , you can point your browser address to
http://yourip/downloads/ and it will list all of the files inside that directory
If your downloads is in your main htdocs folder all you havce to do is
http://yourip/yourfile.zip or what ever the name of your file is inside that directory
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I HOPE THIS HELPED YOU GET A BASIC IDEA OF LINKING TO YOUR FILES ! 8) _________________ This web server is the best ! |

If your domain is active and links to your abyss site , its the same thing , just use
http://www.your-domain.com/downloads/your_file.zip or .html or .exe
To use your IP for your domain service , make sure they allow IP pointing b4 going with them , no-ip.com has a free domain service that allows you to link your IP to your domain _________________ This web server is the best ! |

purchase a real .com name from godaddy.com the sign up for a free no-ip.com account then point your godaddy.com domain name to your no-ip url on your machine. thats how I do it, works like a charm. |

You mean like path forwarding , im talking about real forwarding, IP points to a real domain address like "you.no-ip.com" , never shows you your IP address just your domain name , its not a stupid redirection service 8) _________________ This web server is the best ! |

I know what you mean, I'd recommend No-IP.com or Rage-Systems
But I'm pretty sure Rage-Systems is down right now. |

First... find out if you have a static IP or Dynamic IP from your ISP.
If dynamic, you will need NO-IP or similar service to update your mobile IP.
If Static, then you can skip "No-IP" thing and enter your static IP in your Domain Register. You can use URL Redirect or URL FRAME for your Record type. _________________ CapFusion,... |
