Hey, me again... =S
Ok, I'm using http://no-ip.com/ and I'v set a domain (http://future*textmissingforsecurity*.zapto.org/) but now, whenever I type that in, it sends me to my Router setup page....
It won't take me to my site...?
Could anyone help please?

That would be a port forwarding issue. Set your remote configuration port for your router to something other than 80. Also make sure the IP associated with No-IP is your WAN address rather than you LAN address. That could cause the problem as well.
Any info about router make and model would help.
A workaround would be to set Abyss on a different port (say 1000).
Then forward port 1000 to the server's LAN IP.

Well I would prefer to not have to type in a port number into the address bar everytime... is there away around this?
Heres some info:
Router: Belkin cable/DSL gateway router
I'v placed my computer outside the router firewall so all ports should be accessible.. Something called DMZ?
the IP being used by No-IP isn't my 192.168.2.* one its one that starts with 80.*.* ect ect.. (Which btw worked when we didn't have the router)

Umm, will doing this affect the other computers on the network which also use the router.. We have 4 computers all linked. All getting access to the internet via the wireless router.

Not at all. Actually, making a computer a DMZ will have a more drastic affect.
I have port 80 forwarded to my server with no problems and we have 4 wired + other wireless connections sharing the router.
I think your confusion is between the difference of inbound ports and outbound ports. _________________ Stephen

Well its just that when I'm outside the firewall (using DMZ) programs seem to work because they can access any ports to my PC.. So I thought other people would see my website because the ports are open/accessable..
So exactly how do I go about port forwarding? I'v looked on the Router Setup page and I see nothing.. only Virtual Servers thing.

I get a sever offline error message, but I can successfully ping your sever. It is possible that the server's internal IP address is changing, and this would result in the virtual server forwarding the data to the wrong ip address. _________________ Olly |

lol, thats because it is offline now... There no point in having it online if its not working lol... And no, my 192.168.2.* ip is working perfectly.. It doesn't change. Neither does the 80.*.*.* one.. Apart from Router restarts.. but that problem is covered.

I'm not sure what you have tried as its not been explained very well, but here is a screen shot of how I have set up port forwarding on my router
The computer that you are using will need to have a static ip address, and not a dynamic one!

Does that mean I cannot do it? I'v set mine up exactly how your screenshot shows (with my ip obviously) but as you can see on my screenshot, it says "Connection Type: Dynamic" Does this mean Icannot do it? I don't want to change any settings that will affect the other computers on the network (sharing the same router) in anyway!

I have the DHCP server on and I have 2 computers that connects using DHCP.
I have set up other computer to use a static IP address, which I use as the server
Pick an IP address outside of the dynamic IP address range for your server, then use that for setting up port forwarding
"Connection Type" on the first screen refers to your internet connection, and most people have a dynamic IP address, this is the IP address that your ISP has given you for connecting to the internet, and it could change. Search this forum for info on using dynamic IP address for hosting. _________________ Anthony R
