I am completely new to this so the other topics have not been much help since most ppl are experienced. I can view my files but other computers cannot. I am on a network with 3 other computers running on a cable modem. aprelium.com/ip/ gave me 24.74.86.25 as my IP address but that is the same one as the other computers on my network...does it matter? I tried to use that but it does not work. Then I tried 192.168.200.3 because that is what my computer had listed for my IP address. It works for me but not for anyone outside (I read earlier posts saying that was a local number).
Thank you for your help and patience with me as I familiarize myself with servers. :?: |

192.168.200.3 is valid only inside your LAN (office or home network). 24.74.86.25 is your router IP. You router acts like a bridge betwwen your internal netowrk and the outside world. You should refer to its documentation or to its user's guide to know how to configure it in order to act as a bridge for web server requests. _________________ Support Team

Sorry to say that, but a router isn't a TV set. It is a lot more complicated and you need at least to locate the part of the manual that interests you (search web server there for example, or port mapping) to read it. You can also ask the technical support of its manufacturer for help. _________________ Support Team
